
Camcor is an expansion project of Real Time Security, a leading security company based in Ottawa, Ontario. Camcor Monitoring exists to modernize site security by replacing passive camera recording with proactive technology. Beond was engaged to develop the complete brand identity for Camcor
Beond's approach was to build an identity that allows Camcor to look modern yet not ultra sci-fi, which may alienate some ideal customer profiles, like traditional construction companies. Before design, we researched that the majority of competition in North America uses either Red or Yellow, for obvious reasons that these units will be deployed in the field and these colours travel far. This gave us 2 directional ideas -Colour should be something unique that Camcor can own in their industry -It should be too cliché, like a shield, or use yellow or red -It should convey defence and trust -Lastly and most importantly, the design should pass a 50m test. The logo and colour combinations should be visible from 50m away, as all the Camcor products will be placed outside and branding becomes free advertising for the company
Logo Design Concept
For the primary logo of Camcor, we came up with the concept of an eye. Symbolizing how Camcor helps businesses keep an eye on their assets. Combining that with the star icon in the center for technology, because the main premise and thought behind starting Camcor was to evovle from traditional security to tech-enabled security
The Radar and Eye Design
For brand extension and marketing collateral, we combined the design of radars, which are used to keep an eye on the enemy and placed our "the eye" logo at the center of the radar. This is implemented on all the marketing collatreal where the radar pattern is consistently used in the background to bring more cohesion in the complete brand identity system
